Who's With Me!
I’m writing and reading every day, but barely, because I am also unpacking and settling, and that’s okay. Two pages of Magda Szabó’s The Door before bed, two sentences added to the novel the next morning. It’s only January 9th, which would have been my grandpa’s 83rd birthday. It’s only the second week of the year, the ground of which has felt a tad uneven so far, and we will find our way.
Sometimes when the writing part of writing is not coming easily, I throw my energy into the administration part of writing. Last week, I sent out a new story to seven magazines. Next week, I’ll send it out to seven more. Then maybe I’ll overhaul my submissions spreadsheet because it’s been a while since I’ve reconsidered my tiers.
So this is a short note to say, I’m going to keep going! Who’s with me!
Oh, and a reminder — I’ll be reading with these incredible writers this Thursday, January 13th at 8pm EST. If you come, say hi in the chat! 👋
