Tin House Begins
Tin House Summer Workshop begins today!
I’ve taken a short break from my novel this week in order to compose my notes for workshop.
My workshop leader is Julián Delgado Lopera, who wrote the fantastic Fiebre Tropical. There are eight of us total, and each has submitted:
An excerpt of 6,000 words or less
A synopsis
Writing notes explaining our craft decisions, process, intended audience, etc.
I’m looking forward to digging into these manuscripts in workshop, and I also can’t wait for all the faculty readings, lectures, and conversations between writers — I always get so many new ideas while listening to a writer describe their craft.
I’m trying not to think about the fact that this week also involves other people reading and responding to my own manuscript for the first time. Nervous, excited, etc.
Tin House has opened up a handful of the week’s events to the public, for free, no registration required. Find the Zoom links here.
Talk to you on the other side!
